A major research project by former psychologist Michael Longhurst sees 200 retirees interviewed to gain an understanding of retirement.

Former psychologist Michael Longhurst interviews 200 retirees for a major research project, to gain an understanding of what retirement means to different people. His findings reveal a range of views with the main one being that many people are underprepared for life after work, in a lot of areas, not just money. While still working, there are visions of extensive recreational activities such as golf or fishing and that's what a lot of people imagine they will be doing. The reality is quite different.
